OUR INTERNS STORIES

Why did I decide to join IT-Literacy?

There are many reasons why I decided to join the project. One is that I see it as a unique chance broaden my horizon.

While I have experience with IT, both from my everyday interactions with technology and from professional projects. However, I too have learned much over the course of my stay here, since I had to research for my presentations, especially regarding topics like IT and the European Union.

Many presentations are fascinating, and I really enjoy speaking in front of crowds. The interest of the pupils and even the teacher surprised and delighted me. Even the work with children was satisfying, since I felt like the children really appreciate my work, and I could enrich their day.

Furthermore, I go to live with a great group of international interns and experienced the city, on my own and in the company of both people from AIESEC and my friends. This internship has helped me improve my leadership and organization skills, and I also got to meet a lot of fascinating people. I felt like I contributed!

My intership in Russia represented an opportunity for breaking a lot of paradigms that I had in my mind.

In this little journey made me realize the rich culture we have in our world, in addition to realizing me that AIESEC is more than an organization because it is a way to create bonds of friendship and give something of what we know to the world.

Really, having the opportunity to be in another country sharing pleasant moments with people from around the world, giving classes to a group of a wonderful children and seeing the quality of Russia´s people have , is something priceless, no doubt, have made this internship allowed me to see beyond my nose and realize the importance of giving something without expecting anything in return. Thanks AIESEC!

The program, Project Campino was full of special opportunities and activities. It helped in cultivating skills of leadership and entrepreneurship.

It encouraged cultural exchange and instilled a sense of cultural awareness in me. Interaction with other interns of different countries was instrumental in the development of respect for various nations and culture amongst us (all the interns involved in the project).

This internship was nothing less than a wonderful prize for all the interns enrolled in the program.I do not have adequate or enough words to describe my experience during the course of my internship. But if I have put my journey into words I would describe it as wonderful, enhancing and a life altering experience, full of knowledge.

I concluded that this internship was a window of knowledge for the interns. I concluded that such internships are very helpful in spreading the motto “Whole world is a family” and encouraging the feeling of cultural unity.

As I arrived in St. Pete’ I was immediately felt in love with this beautiful city, with its contrasts: imperious palaces and prospeckts and crumbling apartment blocks that remind to Soviet Union time, the low temperatures and the warm clubs, silent and angry metro friendly and happy people outside it.

During my 6 weeks here I lived in a hostel and i shared the room with people from different part of the world, such as Brazil, China, Hungary, Turkey, Bulgaria, Germany. This gave me the opportunity to better understand their culture and tradition, I've learned a lot from them and I made lot of friends.

I worked with child in different high schools, teaching them some english and i have to say that they were very polite (much more than i expected!) and through their questions, they helped to make the lessons more interesting.

The staff from AIESEC was always ready to give us an help and I felt like at home.I have only good memories about this experience, except one : the only bad aspect is that was too short!
